Pune: Tathawade Residents Protest Against Illegal Parking of Heavy Vehicles on Gada Road

Pune, August 24, 2025: Residents of multiple housing societies in Tathawade staged a public protest demanding immediate action against the illegal parking of heavy cargo vehicles on Gada Road.
Instead of being used for smooth transportation, the road has turned into a parking hub for nearly 40-50 trucks and Hyva-type vehicles daily.
The situation has caused severe inconvenience, leading to frequent traffic congestion, air and noise pollution, and an increased risk of accidents.
Residents from Kohinoor Sapphire, The Nook, Skysuper, Millennium Pacific, Nova Residency, Austin Park, and Ganga Amber — representing around 3,000 families — are among those severely affected by the issue.
Protesters have urged authorities and local political leaders to ensure the road is not used for transport needs of a nearby cement company and to provide a permanent resolution at the earliest.
The residents expressed that their united protest aims to push for urgent administrative intervention to restore safety and smooth movement on the road.
