Pimpri, December 30, 2024: The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) launched a crackdown on defaulters owing property tax arrears of over ₹3 lakh. On December 28 (Saturday) and December 29 (Sunday), the department seized 128 properties, including non-residential, industrial, and mixed-use properties. On Saturday, 65 properties were seized, while 63 properties faced similar action on Sunday.
In response to the drive, 139 property owners paid ₹2.91 crore on Saturday, while 89 owners cleared dues amounting to ₹1.80 crore on Sunday, resulting in a total recovery of ₹4.71 crore. The campaign will continue till January 7, prioritizing properties with arrears of ₹1 lakh or more. Non-residential, industrial, and mixed-use properties will not be exempt from the seizure drive.

“Conscientious citizens have consistently paid their taxes, contributing to the city’s development. The municipal corporation has provided various concessions in property tax, which citizens have availed. Defaulters are urged to pay their taxes promptly to avoid the unpleasant step of property seizure.”, informed Shekhar Singh, Commissioner and Administrator, PCMC.
Additional Commissioner’s Statement:
“The PCMC has repeatedly urged citizens to clear their dues using various channels. Notices were sent to defaulters, warning them of property seizure. Despite this, those who haven’t cleared dues will face action. We encourage defaulters to pay immediately and avoid further steps.”
– said Pradeep Jambhale-Patil, Additional Commissioner (1), PCMC
“The weekend drive will continue in an intensified manner until January 7. Properties with over ₹1 lakh in arrears—100% of non-residential, industrial, and mixed-use—will be seized without exceptions. The department will prioritize recovery efforts, and no post-dated checks will be accepted under any circumstances. Defaulters must pay dues online immediately to avoid property seizure.”
