Pune, October 14, 2025 — In a disturbing case of cyber harassment, a 21-year-old youth from Pimpri-Chinchwad was arrested for creating fake social media accounts and using AI technology to target a young woman and her friends after she refused his request for a relationship.

The accused, identified as Chirag Rajendra Thapa, had met the victim a week ago through an online gaming platform. As their acquaintance grew, he asked the young woman to be his girlfriend and go on a date. When she declined, Chirag reportedly felt deeply hurt and angry, prompting him to hatch a malicious plan.

According to police, Chirag created 13 fake social media accounts in the victim’s name. Using AI tools, he morphed explicit images of the victim and circulated them online. The harassment extended to the victim’s friends, whose photos were similarly manipulated.

Chirag then used the morphed images to threaten the victim’s friends, warning them to convince her to communicate with him, or else he would make the images public. The harassment escalated to the point where the victim approached the Bavdhan Police Station and filed a complaint.
