Pune: Teen Attempts to Rob 82-Year-Old Woman in Mhalunge, Arrested by Police
Three Arrested for Filming Women At Ayurvedic Center In Pune
Mhalunge – A 19-year-old was arrested on Friday night after attempting to rob an 82-year-old woman in her apartment. The swift intervention of her neighbors thwarted the crime and led to the suspect’s arrest.
According to police reports, the teenager physically assaulted the elderly woman and attempted to strangle her. However, she resisted and called for help, prompting her neighbors to intervene. They immediately contacted the Bavdhan police and handed over the suspect.
The accused has been charged under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including inflicting harm during a robbery, trespassing with intent to cause harm, wrongful restraint, and criminal intimidation. Sub-Inspector Sarang Thakare of Bavdhan police confirmed that the suspect was produced in court and placed in judicial custody.
“The victim’s stolen chain was recovered from the suspect. Our investigation is ongoing,” Thakare added.
