Pune, June 5, 2025: Renowned Kathak dancer Sheetal Kolwalkar’s organization, Kathak Naad, is organizing a dance program called “Deepak – A Source of Light” on Sunday, June 8, at the MES Balshikshan auditorium in Mayur Colony. The program is free, open to all, and will start at 5.00 PM. The entry to the program is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a few seats reserved for the invitees.

While sharing more details about the program, Sheetal Kolwalkar said, “My father, Deepak Kolwalkar, played a significant role in my dance journey, inspiring and motivating me. To honor his memory, we have been organizing the ‘Deepak’ program for the past three years. Our objective is to provide a platform for emerging artists and showcase performances by renowned artists.”

This year’s program will begin with a Kathak performance by Anvi Shri, who is a promising young Kathak exponent. Anvi Shri brings grace, rhythm, and expressive storytelling to the stage. Trained in the classical tradition, her performances reflect both deep discipline and a vibrant artistic spirit. She will be accompanied by Vedant Joshi (Tabla), Amey Bichu (Harmonium), Suranjan Khandalkar (Vocal), and Mukti Shri (Padant).

The program will feature a flute performance by Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, A celebrated disciple of the legendary Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. Pt. Rupak Kulkarni is known for his soulful renditions and impeccable technique. His mastery of the flute transcends genres, creating a bridge between tradition and innovation. Pt. Rupak Kulkarni will be accompanied by Yashwant Vaishnav on the Tabla.

The program will conclude with a classical vocal performance by distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist, Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar. Pt. Raghunandan Panshikar is renowned for his rich, emotive voice and deep-rooted gayaki. A senior disciple of Gaansaraswati Kishori Amonkar, his music is an immersive journey through the Jaipur-Atrauli gharana. He will be accompanied by Rishikesh Jagtap (Tabla) and Amey Bichu (Harmonium).
