Environment Theater Festival 2025 organized by “We the Artists (WTA)”and Presented by “Sumbaran Art Foundation for Art & Culture Trust, Pune” is delighted to announce the 10th Year of the Environment Theatre Festival (ETF) 2025, scheduled for January 25, 2025 between 9.30 am to 3 pm. Entry is free to all. 

This year’s festival, themed “Earth’s Future – Our Responsibility, “subtitles like Underground Heroes- Earthworms, Concrete Jungle- animal migration. (interconnection, interdependence, Honey Bees and Trees (interconnection & interdependence) these topics aim to inspire students to explore the intricate relationships within our ecosystem and highlight the importance of environmental conservation.

 The festival has showcased the remarkable talents of students from 40 schools across Pune, emphasizing the critical issue of environmental sustainability and the urgent need to address climate change through the transformative power of art and culture.

Balwadkar

Over the past two days, participating schools delivered 46 compelling theatre performances, engaging over 800 students and presenting more than 1000 +minutes of thought-provoking content. Following the preliminary rounds, 12 outstanding performances have been selected to compete in the grand finale. The festival will take place at Chittaranjan Vatika Garden in Model Colony, providing a natural and organic setting that enhances the connection between the performers, audience, and the environment. Chief Guest for the programme is Sayaji Shinde (Actor & Environmentalist) who will inspire and motivate the children by his presence, while Guest Of Honour are Dr. Rajendra Bhosale (Pune Municipal Commissioner), Mrs. Soujanya Veguru (Head Corporate Responsibility Cummins India).

The festival will also see esteemed judges from the theatre fraternity, including Ashutosh Nerlekar and Dr. Sharvari Karnik, who will evaluate the performances during the finale. biodiversity expert and environmental consultant Srikant Gund will be present as an observer, bringing his valuable perspective to this celebration of environmental awareness through theatre.

ETF is Pune’s pioneering Green Festival which is dedicated towards fostering ownership for the environment among school students.
