Pune To Host Wildlife Festival For Children On June 14 Featuring Tadoba’s Famed Birdman Sumedh Waghmare
Pune, June 7, 2025: In an attempt to sensitize schoolchildren and teenagers about the fast reducing forest covers and importance of wildlife conservation, city based Jungle Belles, Nature Walk Charitable Trust and Bougainvillea Farms are jointly organizing the 2nd edition of Wildlife Festival for Kids on Saturday, June 14th between 4:00pm to 9:00pm at the Bougainvillea Farms on the DP Road near Mhatre Bridge. Entry to this program is free for the kids and their parents. The program is supported by Pune Forest Division.
Hemangi Vartak, Founder of Jungle Belles said, “The special session of Tadoba’s famous birdman Sumedh Waghmare is the highlight of the event. Waghmare is capable of creating sounds of over 200 birds and animals found in the jungle. His rise to fame was his interaction with Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar, which was shared by Tendulkar on his social media handles. During his session Waghmare will also create sounds of birds and animal for which he is very popular all over the state.”
“This Wildlife Festival for Kids will be full of interesting knowledge sessions for the kids. The Range Forest Officer of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve Arpit Mairal will make a presentation about the conservation efforts at this national park, Dr Prachi Mehta who is a renowned expert of Owls will make a presentation on ‘World of Owls’ and Mrudula Kelkar and her team will present a puppet show on man – animal coexistence”, informed Anuj Khare from Nature Walk.
The concluding session will have top class short films on subjects related to wildlife. It includes short films from Roundglass Sustain including Corals, King Cobra – King for a Reason, Caves of Meghalaya and a special film on Indian Wolfs made by Advait Dindore.
Dignitaries like N. R. Praveen, Chief Conservator of Forests, Tushar Chavan Deputy Conservator of Forests, Pankaj Deshmukh, Additional CP Crime, Pune City, Sunil Fulari IPS and Sanjay Deshpande would be present for the inauguration of the Wildlife Festival for Kids.
Asmi Villa, Madkar Constructions, Nature Walk Charitable Trust and Sanjeevani Developers have also extended their support to this Wildlife Festival for Kids.
