Pune: Tourists Attacked By Swarm Of Bees At Shivneri Fort, 2 InjuredÂ
On the morning of April 14, 2025, a sudden swarm of bees, identified as “Agya Mohol” attacked tourists visiting the historic Shivneri Fort. The incident caused panic among the visitors, some of whom suffered multiple stings.
As soon as the news was received, forest department officials, the Junnar Rescue Team, and Shivjanmabhoomi Ambulance Services rushed to the location. They acted swiftly to bring the situation under control and provided immediate medical aid to the injured tourists. All the affected individuals were quickly transported to the nearby Rural Hospital for further treatment.
The tourists involved in the incident were from Jalna, Pune, and Shrivardhan. According to local sources, some of the victims experienced allergic reactions, but no life-threatening injuries have been reported so far.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at Shivneri Fort, a popular heritage site known for its natural surroundings. Authorities have now been urged to take precautionary measures to ensure tourist safety, including regular monitoring of insect activity in the area.

Forest officials are currently investigating the cause of the sudden attack and are planning preventive steps to avoid future occurrences. Fifteen tourists suffered minor injuries while two are still admitted in the hospital
