Pune Traffic Department Imposes New Restrictions Amid Heavy Rains: Entry of Heavy Vehicles Limited Until August 12
Pune’s traffic department has announced new restrictions to manage the impact of recent heavy rains on city roads. The order, issued by Rohidas Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), aims to address traffic congestion and ensure public safety. It will be in effect until August 12, 2024.
The order restricts the entry of heavy vehicles, including dumpers, trucks, and RMC mixers, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The restrictions are in place at key city junctions due to road damage and waterlogging caused by the monsoon.
The affected junctions include:
- Sancheti Chowk – Jungli Maharaj Road, Ganeshkhind Road, Court Road
- Paud Phata Chowk – Karve Road, Deccan, Law College Road
- Rajaram Bridge – DP Road
- Dandekar Bridge – Shastri Road
- Nilayam Bridge – N.C. Phadke Chowk
- Savarkar Statue Chowk – Bajirao Road
- Lakshmi Narayan Cinema Chowk – Jedhe Chowk
- Seven Love Chowk – Jedhe Chowk
- Pandol Apartment Chowk – Mahatma Gandhi Road
- Khane Maruti Chowk – East Street
- Powerhouse Chowk – Maladhakka Chowk
