Pune: Traffic Diversions At Swargate For Smooth Bus Operations During Election Work

Pune, November 19, 2024: The Pune Police have announced traffic changes in the Swargate area on November 19 and 20 to ensure the smooth movement and parking of Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) buses deployed for election duties. The adjustments aim to minimize disruptions and streamline transportation for the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha elections.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende detailed the changes, which will affect the stretch between Swargate and Nehru Stadium. The diversions will be in effect during the following time slots:

•  – November 19: 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM  
• – November 20: 6:00 PM to 12:00 AM

• 1. Jedhe Chowk to Sarasbaug: Vehicles will not be allowed to enter the lane near Hotel Nataraj.  
• 2. Solapur Road to Jedhe Chowk Underpass: Entry for vehicles from Solapur Road towards Jedhe Chowk underpass will be restricted.  
• 3. Alternate Route for Solapur Road Vehicles: Vehicles coming from Solapur Road must use the left lane under the overbridge at Jedhe Chowk and turn right towards Holga Chowk to proceed to their destinations.  

The police have requested commuters to plan their routes accordingly and cooperate with the diversions to ensure smooth traffic flow during this critical period.
