Pune: To prevent roadside disputes and provide immediate assistance to accident victims, the Pune Police have initiated a training program for traffic personnel, modeled after the Mumbai Police system. The first batch of 65 officers and constables has completed the training and received certificates from Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.

A dedicated training institute for traffic police personnel is also planned, similar to the one in Mumbai, though a location for it is yet to be finalized. The training covers traffic laws, technology use, e-challan systems, communication skills, and first aid for accident victims. Experts from various fields, including medical professionals and transport department officials, guided the trainees.

Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar emphasized that the training will help officers regulate traffic more effectively and improve public interactions.
