Pune, July 27, 2025: In a significant move to streamline vehicular movement and reduce congestion in the Market Yard area, the Pune City Traffic Police have imposed time-based restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles, including trucks, dumpers, mixers, and containers.

According to the new traffic plan announced by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav, the following changes have been implemented with immediate effect:

Night-Time Movement Allowed: Heavy vehicles will be allowed to operate between Tilak Chowk and Aai Mata Mandir height barrier from 10 PM to 8 AM.

24-Hour Ban: A complete 24-hour ban has been enforced on the movement of heavy vehicles between Aai Mata Mandir height barrier and Gangadham Chowk.

Daytime Ban (8 AM to 10 PM):

Lullanagar (Kondhwa) to Gangadham Chowk to Chandralok Hospital Chowk

Gangadham Chowk to Vakhari Mahamandal Chowk to Seven Loves Chowk

On these routes, no heavy vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit during daytime hours.

Market Yard Entry Point No. 9: Goods carriers arriving at night will be permitted to offload cargo using the private roads of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) during the day. This relaxation is specifically meant for goods arriving at night to ensure smooth logistics operations.

These traffic modifications have been implemented to ease congestion in the densely populated Market Yard locality, especially during peak business hours. The traffic police urge transporters and logistics companies to adhere strictly to these new time schedules to avoid penalties and ensure smooth traffic flow.
