A heartbreaking incident has been reported from Khed taluka in Pune district, where a 27-year-old Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) aspirant died after falling from an under-construction building on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Rishikesh Shantaram Rakhe, who was reportedly grappling with mental stress stemming from his ongoing struggle with competitive exam preparations.

According to Khed police, Rishikesh had recently left his hometown of Bahirwadi to stay with his sister in Rakshewadi, located about 14 kilometers away. On the morning of the incident, he informed his sister that he was going for a walk. CCTV footage later showed him entering an under-construction building near Ashanand Society around 11:15 a.m.

Tragically, by shortly after noon, residents discovered his body near the building, lying in a pool of blood. Emergency services were called, and Rishikesh was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Authorities confirmed he had sustained fatal injuries from a fall—reportedly from the 11th floor.

“There is no suicide note found so far, but preliminary evidence and witness statements suggest it may be a case of suicide,” said Inspector Prabhakar More of the Khed police station. “His family mentioned that he had been under significant pressure due to repeated setbacks in exams and job searches. The investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances.”
