Pune Tragedy: 6-Year-Old Boy Killed By JCB While Out To Buy Coriander With Mother

A tragic incident has shaken the Pimpri-Chinchwad area of Pune where a 6-year-old boy was fatally hit by a JCB machine while out to buy coriander with his mother. The heartbreaking accident occurred in Moshi Godown Chowk on Sunday morning, May 4.

The deceased child has been identified as Rishikesh Jaydev Kharade (6). According to reports, the child had stepped out with his mother around 11 AM when a JCB approaching from the opposite side struck him with force, severely injuring him.

Local residents immediately rushed the injured boy to a nearby private hospital, but he was declared dead before treatment could begin. Witnesses described a harrowing scene as the mother watched helplessly while her son was crushed before her eyes. Overcome with grief, she broke into uncontrollable cries at the hospital.

Police Take Action

Following the incident, Rishikesh’s maternal aunt lodged a complaint with the Bhosari MIDC Police Station. The police registered a case against the JCB operator Rahul Shriramchandra Jadhav (26) under: IPC Section 106(1) (negligent conduct), Section 281 (rash driving of machinery), Motor Vehicles Act Sections 184 and 119/177. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
