Pune : Transformer in Undri poses risk to citizens
A double pole (DP) (transformer) is hanging opposite Nyati Ebony Society, Punekar Chowk, Undri creating fear among the nearby residents that it might break & fall anytime, leading to serious mishaps.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sachin Punekar, a resident of Astonia Classic, Undri said, “This DP pole/ transformer has been hanging dangerously near Nyati Ebony for around 1 year. A vehicle had fiercely struck the DP pole due to which it is in such a state. Hence, if this pole collapses on someone, they could die. Also, if it falls on vehicles, it could be destroyed. We have informed Mahavitaran several times but no action has been taken.”
Satish Umbarje, MSEDCL official from Undri said, “We will go to the location, inspect it & take relevant action soon.”
Another resident of the area Vaidehi S complained that the electrical wires and the structure is hanging dangerously. MSEDCL must take immediate steps to resolve the issue and cover the area appropriately to avoid any mishap.
