Pune: Two Youths Duped Of ₹4.8 Lakh With Fake Army Job Promise
Pune: Two young men were cheated of ₹4.8 lakh after being lured with the promise of jobs in the Indian Army. The Bund Garden Police have registered a case against a man from Uttarakhand in connection with the fraud.
The complaint was filed by Ravindra Janardan Bilade (23), a resident of Borkul, Dhule. Based on his statement, police have booked the accused, identified as Mohit Ramsingh Dhami, a resident of Uttarakhand.
According to police reports, Bilade got acquainted with Dhami through a mutual contact in March last year. Dhami claimed to be employed at a military hospital and assured Bilade and his friend, Deepak Rokde, that he could secure jobs for them in the Army.
The accused allegedly took ₹2.8 lakh from Bilade and ₹2 lakh from Rokde, amounting to a total of ₹4.8 lakh. However, when the duo inquired about their job status, Dhami began evading their queries. Realizing they had been duped, Bilade approached the Bund Garden Police Station and lodged a complaint.
The police have initiated an investigation into the case, with Assistant Police Inspector Mohite leading the probe.
