Pune, October 9, 2025: Vesavar Art Gallery presents “Beyond The Face”, a charity art exhibition by contemporary artist Yalda Ostwar, from October 12 to October 22, 2025. The showcase is an evocative exploration of empathy, identity, and resilience — with all proceeds from the sale of artworks dedicated to supporting farmers across Maharashtra affected by recent floods. The funds will help restore damaged crops, rebuild homes, and provide medical assistance to those impacted. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Punit Balan, CMD of Punit Balan Group, as the Chief Guest.

“These works are not about capturing a likeness, but about exploring the invisible landscapes of thought, memory, and feeling. Each face becomes a mirror — holding fragments of pain, longing, resilience, and fleeting joy,” says Yalda Ostwar.

She adds, “The collection invites viewers into a shared space of reflection — reminding us that identity is never fixed, emotions transcend cultures, and resilience is embedded in every human story.”

The exhibition features a striking collection of contemporary face paintings that transcend traditional portraiture. Each face becomes a symbolic vessel — an abstract psychological portrait that gives form to the unseen and the unspoken. Through fragmented and layered compositions, Yalda’s works dissolve boundaries of gender, culture, and identity, urging viewers to look beyond appearances and engage with the emotions, memories, and thoughts beneath the surface.

At the heart of “Beyond The Face” lies the idea of silent dialogues — the inner narratives that exist behind every expression. By stripping away realism, Yalda intensifies the psychological and emotional impact of her work — where a mouth may become a wound, an eye transforms into a portal, and a shadow carries the weight of memory. These are not just portraits of individuals, but reflections of the collective human experience — deeply personal, yet universally resonant.

“‘Beyond The Face’ is a powerful reminder of how art can mirror the deepest human emotions while creating tangible change. We are honored to showcase Yalda Ostwar’s work and support the farmers of Maharashtra through this initiative,” says Kavita Bhandari, Founder of Vesavar Art Gallery.

Pranali Harpude, Co-Founder of Vesavar Art Gallery, adds, “Hosting this exhibition is a privilege. Yalda’s art is a profound exploration of emotion and humanity, and through this show, creativity becomes a means to uplift lives — proving that art truly has the power to make a difference.”

Ultimately, “Beyond The Face” positions the face as both mask and revelation — concealing and exposing, resisting and confessing. By unmasking these silent dialogues, Yalda Ostwar invites us to confront questions of vulnerability, strength, and the shared emotional truths that bind us all.
