Pune, May 28 , 2025– The residents of Ivy Estate Road, near Lexicon School on Nagar Road in Wagholi, have once again highlighted the persistent civic crisis in their area, questioning the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) over years of neglect and inaction.

Whether it’s rainwater or overflowing sewage, the situation on this stretch remains the same year after year. The road, often submerged and damaged, has become a symbol of administrative apathy. Locals say they have grown used to living in distress, but their patience is wearing thin.

“For over a decade, hundreds of crores have been collected from this area in taxes, but what have we received in return? Broken roads, poor drainage, and a life full of risk,” say residents, who have been battling dangerous travel conditions daily. “Our only expectation is to live with basic human dignity,” complained Anil Mishra, from Team WACO (Team Wagholi Against Corruption).

Despite repeated complaints and reminders, no long-term solutions have been implemented. Residents express frustration that during elections, leaders make grand promises, only to disappear once votes are secured. The unchanged state of infrastructure has left many questioning whether the inaction is due to inefficiency, corruption, or a deliberate disregard for the common citizen.

However, the mood in Wagholi is shifting. Locals are no longer content with empty assurances. “We don’t want poster politics or hollow declarations anymore. We want leadership that delivers,” said one resident.

The message from Wagholikars is clear: accountability is the new demand. The public now seeks representatives who will not run away from questions but instead stand up to resolve pressing civic issues.

As the monsoon intensifies, residents are calling upon the PMC and elected representatives to act before the situation worsens further.
