Pune: Wanowrie Locals Stage Protest Against Right Turn Block At Fatima Nagar, Urge Police Help
Pune, September 16, 2025: Fatima Nagar Chowk in Solapur Highway is a crucial entry point to Wanwadi for commuters from Pune city. Every day, thousands of vehicles enter Wanwadi through this junction, boosting the local economy and providing residents with vital connectivity.
However, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Police have arbitrarily banned the right turn at this spot.
As a result, vehicles coming from Pune city are now forced to travel nearly 500 meters ahead, take a U-turn, and return 500 meters, causing significant inconvenience to Wanwadi residents. Locals have termed this move as grossly unfair.

In strong protest against this decision, the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction), under the leadership of city president Prashant Jagtap, staged a demonstration at Fatima Nagar Chowk.
Along with Prashant Jagtap, party leaders including Kevin Manual, Prafull Jambhulkar, Avinash Kale, Prakash Bhandari, Ravi Pardeshi, Rameez Syed, Asha Shinde, and Rohit Salve, along with a large number of office-bearers, workers, and Wanwadi residents, participated in the protest, condemning the arbitrary actions of the administration.
