Pune Weather: IMD Reports Significant Drop in Minimum Temperatures, NDA Records 6.1°C, Shivajinagar 7.8°C
Temperatures dip to single digits after 15 days; IMD predicts a gradual rise this week.
Pune witnessed its coldest day of the season on Sunday, with minimum temperatures plummeting to 9 degrees Celsius, marking the first time in over two weeks that temperatures dipped to single digits.
Earlier, Pune had recorded a low of 9.3 degrees Celsius around two weeks ago, followed by a steady rise in temperature due to increased moisture incursion. However, the situation shifted as a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea gained strength, slowing moisture inflow. Additionally, active western disturbances winds that carry moisture and cause snow and winter rains in North India contributed to the temperature drop.
