IMD Pune’s senior meteorologist, SD Sanap, stated, “A trough and wind confluence over central and adjoining parts of Maharashtra at the lower tropospheric level is influencing the weather. As a result, several parts of Maharashtra, including Pune, are likely to receive rainfall.”

Former IMD Pune weather and forecasting head Anupam Kashyapi added, “The combination of high temperatures and moisture incursion is creating atmospheric instability, leading to the possible formation of cumulonimbus clouds in the afternoon.”

With temperatures continuing to rise, residents are advised to take precautions against heat-related health issues and stay updated on weather advisories.
