Pune, April 1: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has placed Pune under a ‘yellow alert’ as the city is set to experience thunderstorms and rainfall from April 1 to 4. While the showers will bring temporary relief from the heat, summer conditions will persist, with temperatures expected to stay above 35 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms and Temperature Fluctuations

According to the IMD, Pune will witness fluctuating weather conditions over the next seven days, characterized by thunderstorms, occasional rain, and rising temperatures. Between April 1 and 4, thunderstorms with rain are forecasted, gradually reducing the maximum temperature from 38 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius. On April 5, the city may experience additional rain or thundershowers, while April 6 is likely to see a return of partly cloudy skies, with temperatures climbing back to 38 degrees Celsius.

Persistent Summer Heat Despite Rain

Despite the expected rainfall, summer conditions will continue to dominate, with maximum temperatures ranging between 35 degrees Celsius and 37 degrees Celsius. The combination of high daytime temperatures and fluctuating humidity levels will result in warm and dry conditions, typical for early April.
