Pune: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast misty and foggy conditions in Pune on Wednesday morning, with clear skies expected later in the day. The maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will remain at 13 degrees.

Unlike Delhi, which experienced severe fog conditions on Wednesday, Pune will see moderate weather with no alerts issued by the IMD. The city’s maximum temperature is expected to range between 31 and 32 degrees Celsius in the coming days. Morning fog is likely to persist until January 11, but it will dissipate by midday.

From January 12 onwards, a layer of haze is expected to develop in Pune, according to IMD predictions. On January 12 and 13, the maximum temperature will remain steady at 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will rise slightly to 16 degrees.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Pune remains at a moderate level as recorded by the Hadapsar monitoring station. The prominent pollutant, PM10, has contributed to an AQI reading within the 101–200 range, signified by a yellow category. This indicates potential breathing discomfort for individuals with lung, asthma, or heart conditions.

Other monitoring stations in Pune have also recorded AQI levels in the moderate category, with Alandi reporting an AQI of 140 and Revenue Colony-Shivajinagar at 126.

Citizens are advised to exercise caution and limit exposure to polluted air, particularly during the early morning hours when pollutants tend to be higher.
