A yellow alert has been issued across Maharashtra from August 17 to 21, warning of rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Meteorological predictions indicate the formation of a low-pressure area over the west-central Bay of Bengal by August 19. This system is expected to move west-northwest, affecting Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.

Additionally, a weather disturbance is likely to develop over North Konkan and extend up to the Comorin region, leading to intensified cyclonic activity along the Arabian Sea coastline and impacting Goa and the South Konkan coast.

As a result, the state may experience thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall.
