Pune Woman Caught on Camera Brutally Assaulting Cat in Baner; Case Registered

A disturbing case of animal cruelty has surfaced from Pune’s Baner area, where a woman was caught on CCTV violently assaulting a pet cat. The video shows her repeatedly slamming the cat on the floor before kicking it away like a football in the society corridor.
The footage, which quickly went viral, has shocked residents and animal lovers alike. Following the outrage, Nitesh Khare from the Society for Animal Safety filed a non-cognizable (NC) complaint against the woman. According to Khare, when he reached out to her, she responded with abuse and hostility.

Sharing the video on Instagram, Khare wrote: “Trigger Warning: Animal Abuse. A pet cat was brutally beaten and thrown in a corridor by a student from Chhattisgarh residing in Pune with her partner. Thanks to swift police intervention, we managed to get them detained and made them realize their mistake. The cat is now safe and will soon be moved to a caring foster home.”
Khare also urged the public to treat pets with compassion and report any cases of abuse: “Your pets deserve the same love and respect as any family member. Let’s make this world kinder for all living beings.”
