Pune, 7th January 2025: A 28-year-old woman, Shubhada Shankar Kodare, an employee at WNS Global Services in Viman Nagar, died after being attacked by her colleague, Krishna Satyanarayan Kanoja, also 28. The incident took place in the office building’s parking lot around 6 p.m. and was reportedly triggered by a financial dispute, according to Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada Police Station.

Shubhada, a resident of Balaji Nagar in Katraj, was assaulted by Kanoja, who resides in Khairewadi, Shivajinagar. The argument escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving Shubhada critically injured. She was rushed to Sahyadri Hospital in Yerawada but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Inspector Shelke stated, The attack seems to be a fallout of a dispute between them. Around 6.15 pm on Tuesday the suspect attacked the victim woman with a sharp metal weapon. She sustained serious injury on her elbow,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Himmat Jadhav. The dispute was reportedly over borrowed money. The accused, Krishna Kanoja, was arrested immediately, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and the Arms Act.

The complaint was filed by Shubhada’s younger sister, Sadhana Shankar Kodare, aged 26.
