Pune: Young Woman Found Dead In Hinjawadi Society
Pune: A 25- to 30-year-old woman was found dead in the premises of The Crown Green Society in Hinjawadi on the morning of May 31, prompting an immediate police response and investigation. A call was received at 6:56 AM alerting authorities about the discovery of an unidentified woman’s body near the society premises.
Night patrol officer API Somnath Panchal and his team reached the scene and examined CCTV footage from the main gate. The woman was seen arriving at 4:38 AM on a two-wheeler and entering the lift at 4:42 AM, heading toward the 21st floor of the building.
During a search of the society premises, a a two wheeler was found parked in the society’s parking area in one of the building. The vehicle was registered to Abhilasha Bhausaheb Kothimbire, confirming the deceased’s identity. A mobile phone recovered from the scooter helped police trace her residence to Guruprasad Homes, near Vitthal Rukmini Temple, Hinjawadi.
Her roommate confirmed that Abhilasha was at home until 1:00 AM. At 5:00 AM, she was missing from the room, and faint blood stains were spotted on the bathroom wall. By 10:00 AM, Abhilasha had still not returned, and her phone remained switched off. Police later informed the roommate about the incident.
Upon further inspection of the residence, police recovered a suicide note written by Abhilasha stating, “I have lost the will to live, I am doing this of my own free will.” Blood-stained items including a napkin, undergarment, and pillow cover were also seized.
According to her roommate, Abhilasha had been mentally disturbed. A post-mortem conducted at YCM Hospital confirmed death due to “injury to multiple vital organs.” Police have ruled out foul play and are continuing their investigation.
Hinjewadi police stated that investigation is being carried out further.
