Pune Zilla Parishad Cracks Down on Unauthorized Schools, Issues Warning To Parents

Tehsildars Directed To Submit Draft Delimitation Plan For Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis By July 14
The Education Department of Pune Zilla Parishad has identified 13 unauthorized schools operating in the district, putting parents and students at risk of financial losses and educational disruptions. Primary Education Officer Sanjay Naikade has warned these schools to cease admissions and advertisements immediately, threatening legal action and daily fines of ₹10,000 for non-compliance.
The move comes as the admission process for private schools begins for the new academic year, with parents eager to secure spots in private English-medium institutions. To prevent deception, the education department has urged parents to verify a school’s recognition status before enrolling their children. This includes checking if the school is a Fully Recognized School, Provisionally Recognized School, Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) Plus, or Self-Recognized School.
