For the past few weeks, several Puneites are struggling to get the vital Remdesivir injection to save the lives of their near and dear ones. Despite the stringent steps taken by the district administration, the sad state of management of these injections is seen failing across all medical facilities in Pune where Covid19 patients are taking treatment.

Bharatiya Janata Party Pune today held a protest outside the Pune District Collectorate’s office demanding immediate action against the mismanagement and streamlining the supply of Remdesivir injections.

For two days in a row, the city of Pune has not been supplied with Remdesivir injection.  Despite the city’s daily demand for injections being at least eighteen thousand, the city does not have an adequate supply, which is extremely serious.  Pune city BJP led by city president Jagdish Mulik today staged an agitation outside the district collector’s office against the administration, for the government to take immediate action.  The agitation was carried out following a curfew and corona rules.

Remdesivir injections are not available to patients in the growing corona crisis in Pune city.  Due to the negligence of the administration and the government, the relatives of the patients in Pune have to wander around the city to get injections.  In such a situation, instead of giving mental support to the citizens, the administration has left them in the lurch.  There has been a huge outcry among the citizens against the administration and the government.  We are agitating for this today, ” said Pune BJP city president Jagdish Mulik while talking to the media.

Mulik further said, “It is sad to see that in such tough times, these injections are sold at higher cost in black. Knowing this fact, there has been no action on this by the administration. These injections are being sold at as high as Rs 25,000. This situation is highly condemnable. “

A BJP delegation led by BJP city president Jagdish Mulik met Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao about the current situation of Covid19 in Pune.

The delegation also questioned the oxygen availability in Pune which is also becoming very acute.  Today, the Pune division needs about 350 to 400 metric tons of oxygen, but only 15 to 20 metric tons of oxygen is being supplied.

As a result, there is a severe shortage of oxygen beds in all hospitals.  If the administration and the government do not make serious efforts on this issue, the people of Pune will have to face a dire situation in the future and all the responsibility will remain on the administration and the government, Mulik added.

City President Jagdish Mulik, Ex-Minister Dilip Kamble, Leader of the House Ganesh Bidkar, General Secretary Ganesh Ghosh, Rajesh Yenpure, Deepak Nagpure, Deepak Pote, Archana Patil, Dilip Kalokhe and Mahesh Punde had participated in the agitation.
