Punekars got a rare opportunity to witness vintage radio sets

On the occasion of World Radio Day, Punekars got an golden opportunity to witness a wonderful treasure of vintage radio sets. Various old and rare models were exhibited at Muktangan Science Exploratery Center, Model Colony by old radio collector Shripad Kulkarni. Radio models from 60-70’s to todays era were displayed there. Approximately, 45-50 models were exhibited.

Shrirang Gokhale inaugurated the exhibition. A radio festival was jointly organized by Marathi Vigyan Parishad, Amateur Radio License Holders, Muktangan Science Exploratory Center, Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers, Padmini Electronics at Muktangan Science Exploratory Center in Model Colony.

In this radio festival, along with radio exhibition, lectures by experts, a quiz competition on the radio were organized. Deputy Director from All India Radio, Chitralekha Kulkarni gave a presentation on All India Radio’s new broadcasting technology ‘DRM’

The event also saw lectures by various experts. Ham Vilas Rabade from Pune gave information about Ham radio. Vishwas Kale spoke on ‘Radio: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’, Dr. Vishwas Udpikar spoke on ‘Design and Development of SDR Radio’, Dilip Bapat demonstrated ‘Listening to Radio is My Hobby’. Anant Bhide, Director of Muktangan Science Exploratory Center. Shri Rajendra Kumar Saraf, President of Marathi Vigyan Parishad were present.
