Pune’s AI Traffic Cameras Flag Over 300 Violations on FC Road in Just Four Days
Pune, 01 June 2025: The AI-based camera system installed on Fergusson College (FC) Road has recorded a total of 347 traffic violations between May 28 and May 31, 2025, according to Pune City Traffic Police.
The breakdown of the violations includes:
- No Parking: 74 cases
- Double Parking: 155 cases
- Wrong-side Driving: 81 cases
- Triple Riding on Two-Wheelers: 37 cases
This initiative is part of a pilot project launched earlier in May by the Pune City Traffic Police to monitor traffic discipline through artificial intelligence. The AI cameras automatically detect violations and help issue challans digitally, reducing the need for manual intervention.
According to previous reports, the cameras were installed to enhance road safety, improve traffic management, and discourage reckless driving. The pilot project has already begun yielding results by ensuring round-the-clock surveillance and quicker detection of offences.
Authorities have urged citizens to follow traffic rules, emphasizing that such technology-backed enforcement is aimed at making city roads safer for everyone.
“Let’s drive with care and make our streets safer for all,” said an official from the Pune City Traffic Police.
