Rahul Kalate’s Leadership Could Drive Holistic Development for Pimpri Chinchwad: Jayant Patil

Chinchwad, 12th: Jayant Patil, Maharashtra State President of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), emphasized the potential of Rahul Kalate to bring comprehensive progress to Pimpri Chinchwad if elected to the Legislative Assembly. Speaking at a youth rally in Rahatni, Patil praised Kalate’s charismatic and inclusive personality, which allows him to connect effectively with people of all ages, especially women and the youth. Patil expressed confidence that Kalate’s leadership would not only uplift Chinchwad but benefit the entire Pimpri Chinchwad area.
Patil remarked, “Rahul Kalate stands as a capable leader with a strong, well-rounded personality. Sending him to the Assembly will assure development across the region. This time, we all have decided to back Rahul for the Assembly.”
The rally was held as part of Kalate’s campaign, with the presence of various Mahavikas Aghadi leaders, including former MLA Vilas Lande, Gautam Chabukswar, Savita Dagde, Sunil Gahwane, Tushar Kamthe, and others, who gathered in significant numbers to show their support.
Jayant Patil criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for prioritizing dynastic politics over performance. “Unlike the BJP, which has given space to family-run politics, Rahul Kalate is a much better option for fighting corruption in the municipal corporation and reshaping Chinchwad. There is no city plagued by corruption like Pimpri Chinchwad. This regime has tarnished the city’s image, turning it into a hub for misappropriation of funds, where securing a tender or office seems to mean entitlement to a share. We must stop these malicious practices to protect the city’s future,” he urged.
Concerns Over State Development Lag
Patil also criticized the government, stating that Maharashtra has lagged behind Gujarat over the past decade. He attributed this to rising inflation, unemployment, unfair taxation, and the exodus of IT companies from Hinjewadi, noting that Maharashtra’s economic policies have pushed companies to migrate to Gujarat.
Former MLA Vilas Lande highlighted the development brought to the city by Sharad Pawar’s IT initiatives, particularly the prosperity in Chinchwad. “To return the city to its former glory, voters will rally in favor of Mahavikas Aghadi in all three constituencies,” he said, appealing for support against the administration’s alleged corruption.
Rahul Kalate, the NCP candidate, further stated, “Despite one family holding power for years, Chinchwad has not seen development beyond issues of corruption and unresolved grievances. This time, the people are determined to make a change.”
