In a recent discussion with The Indian Express, the actor refuted the claim, stating that he is not foolish enough to impose additional burdens on his producers. He was reacting to rumours that he hiked his fees following the massive success.
“I read different figures every day.I’m not stupid to burden my producers. Being a part of the biggest blockbuster is not going to change me as an actor, money is just a byproduct of my passion. I want to work all my life so I keep looking for roles that surprise me, excite me, challenge and help me grow,” says actor Rajkumar Rao. He was responding to recent rumors alleging he charges huge fees post the release of Stree 2.
The film holds the 7th position in India’s top 10 highest-grossing films. Reports indicate that this horror-comedy has garnered a total of Rs 180 crore globally. With a production budget of Rs 25 crore, the film has achieved remarkable success, earning seven times its investment at the box office.
There are rumors circulating that following the release of Stree 2, he has increased his fee to Rs 5 crore. There have been claims suggesting that he has turned down substantial offers solely for financial reasons.
Rajkummar Rao, portraying the character of Vicky, a lady’s tailor and the protector of Chanderi in Stree 2, is reportedly the highest earner among the main cast. According to sources, the 39-year-old actor received an impressive remuneration of Rs. 6 crore for his performance.
In terms of his professional endeavors, Rajkummar Rao is set to appear in the film Maalik, directed by Pulkit. He recently shared the movie’s poster on Instagram, featuring him atop a jeep while holding an AK-47.
