The general secretary of Shri Ram Janambhoomi Trust, Champat Rai, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to install the idol of Lord Ram in the Garbhagriha of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya temple on January 22 next year.

As per the information provided, PM Modi has accepted the invitation and will be present on the historic occasion. PM Modi also shared the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, expressing his gratitude for being a part of this momentous event.

Jai Siya Ram! Today is a day filled with profound sentiments. Recently, the officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust graciously visited my residence and extended an invitation for me to attend the consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya. I am truly humbled and consider myself immensely fortunate to have the opportunity to witness this momentous occasion during my lifetime,” stated PM Modi in a post on X.

The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has been the culmination of a lengthy legal battle, which was resolved by the Supreme Court in 2019. This temple holds significant importance as it was one of the key electoral promises made by the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

Following the court’s verdict, the government established the ‘Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Tirtha Kshetra’ Trust, entrusted with making all decisions pertaining to the temple’s construction. On 5 August, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the temple, and since then, the construction has been progressing rapidly. The installation of the idol of Ram Lalla in the temple’s sanctum sanctorum is scheduled to take place on 22 January 2024.
