A captivating video showcasing a remarkable wildlife moment at Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan has taken social media by storm.

The footage captures the renowned tigress Riddhi and her three cubs engaging in a rare encounter as they feast on a crocodile by a river.

The video, which surfaced on X, showcases the majestic Riddhi and her offspring calmly devouring their hunt by the riverbank. A user shared the video with an intriguing caption, highlighting the significance of the moment: “Famous Ranthambore Tigress Riddhi and her three cubs hunt a crocodile in Zone 3 of Ranthambore National Park & Tiger Reserve. Quite a rare kill to witness in the Park. Riddhi’s Grandmother Machli had famously hunted a 14 feet crocodile once. Riddhi is Queen of Ranthambore now.”

IFS officer Parveen Kaswan also reshared the video on X, expressing awe at the tigers’ predatory prowess: “Have you seen tigers eating a crocodile. The crocodile hunting thing is in their bloodline it seems.”

The captivating footage quickly gained traction, amassing over 1,34,000 views and sparking a flurry of reactions. While some viewers marvelled at the display of nature’s raw power, others speculated about the circumstances surrounding the crocodile’s demise. 

One user suggested that the crocodile may have succumbed to natural causes, prompting the tigers to opportunistically scavenge the carcass. 

Another user humorously remarked, “Finally an instance where saying ‘you’re slaying queen’ makes any sense.”

“No doubt! It must have been a very interesting and exciting hunt… both powerful…But alas only one can WIN in this survival fight!”
