Pune : The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has organised Shastra Pujan on October 22 at Jarande Lawns, Heaven Park, Wanowrie at 6 pm.
The festival of ‘Vijayadashami’ is a celebration of victory, specifically the triumph of good over evil. It is also the foundation day of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, an organization that values the power of good.
They have urged people to attend Shastra Puja, organised by Parvati Vibhag of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, the worship of weapons holds a significant importance. Homes and military organizations alike participate in the worship of weapons, which takes place after nine days of continuous devotion.
The 10th day marks the culmination of this worship, with the fervent desire for victory. This age-old tradition of weapon worship, in conjunction with the veneration of Shaktirupa Durga and Kali on Vijayadashami, has been deeply rooted in the Hindu religion.
It is on this day that Chhatrapati Shivaji, through his devotion, pleased Goddess Durga and was bestowed with the Bhavani sword.
