Rata Tata addressed rumours about his health, confirming he is undergoing routine check-ups and urging against spreading misinformation

Mr. Tata quickly reassured the public that his condition was not serious. In a post on Instagram, he addressed concerns over his health, dismissing circulating rumours. “There is no cause of concern,” he stated. “I am undergoing medical check-ups due to my age and related medical conditions but remain in good spirits.”

He also urged the media and the public to avoid spreading misinformation, emphasizing that the reports were exaggerated.

Ratan Tata is widely admired for his leadership of the Tata Group from 1991 to 2012, and again briefly in 2016-2017. Though no longer involved in the conglomerate’s daily operations, he remains active as the head of its charitable trusts.

Mr. Tata’s contributions to India have earned him high civilian honours, including the Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. Since his retirement, he has also become a beloved figure on social media, known for his posts about animal rights, particularly in support of dogs, and appeals to Indian citizens.

The business icon’s message on Monday aimed to calm any fears about his health as he continues routine check-ups.
