RPF Pune Rescues 8 Minor Boys Under ‘Operation Nanhe Farishtey’ At Pune Railway Station
Railway Protection Force (RPF) Pune, under the ongoing noble initiative “Operation Nanhe Farishtey”, once again demonstrated its dedication towards the safety and protection of children.
On 19th September 2025, during a joint drive with Child Help Line (CHL) Pune and NGO SATHI, RPF Pune conducted a rescue operation at Pune Railway Station. During patrolling and awareness activities, 08 minor boys were found wandering alone on Platforms 01, 02 and 04 without the presence of guardians or relatives.
On gentle and compassionate inquiry, the children revealed that they had left their homes without informing their families—some influenced by friends to visit Pune, while others had left due to personal reasons. Considering their tender age and vulnerability, all the children were immediately taken into safe custody with care and protection.
Following medical check-up and counseling, the children were produced before Child Welfare Committee (CWC-1), Yerwada, Pune. As per CWC directions, 07 children were entrusted to Sathi Open Shelter Home and 01 child to Shri Sai Seva Open Shelter Home for temporary care until their parents arrive.
This humane act by RPF Pune highlights its unwavering commitment not only to the safety of passengers but also to the protection of the most vulnerable – children in need of care and protection.

Parents are urged to remain vigilant regarding their children’s safety. Timely reporting to RPF, Child Help Line (1098), or Railway Helpline (139) can help save innocent lives.
RPF Pune appeals to all passengers and citizens:
“Your alertness can protect a child’s future. If you see any minor child alone or in distress at railway premises, immediately inform RPF or dial Railway Helpline 139.”
