‘Saiyaara’ Breaks Records with Rs 105.75 Crore in Four Days, Becomes Biggest Newcomer Opening in Bollywood History
Mumbai, July 22 — In a historic box office performance, Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has shattered previous records for films led by newcomers, collecting a staggering Rs 105.75 crore within just four days of its release.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara had a phenomenal opening weekend, earning Rs 83 crore in its first three days alone. The momentum carried into Monday (day 4), with early estimates reporting Rs 22.50 crore, pushing the total past the Rs 100 crore mark—an unprecedented feat for a film without established stars.
The film recorded Rs 25 crore on Saturday and saw a significant boost on Sunday with Rs 35.75 crore, indicating strong audience traction and positive word-of-mouth. On Monday, the film held steady, defying the typical post-weekend drop seen in most box office performances.
Remarkably, Saiyaara has outperformed several major releases of 2025, including Salman Khan’s Sikandar, which failed to cross Rs 100 crore in its first four days. Comparatively, Raid 2 earned just over Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend, while Saiyaara surged ahead with Rs 83 crore.
According to Box Office India, the film is witnessing extraordinary business not only in urban multiplexes but also in mass belts across North India, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Central India (CI). This rare pan-India appeal is being attributed to the film’s emotionally resonant music, nostalgic resemblance to Aashiqui 2, and a strategic marketing campaign that’s gone viral on social media.
Audience-shot videos and reels from theatres are drawing more curiosity, creating a viral buzz that’s boosting footfalls. Industry insiders are now dubbing Saiyaara as a potential Aashiqui 3, given its musical depth and romantic intensity.
With positive word-of-mouth, a strong hold in both metros and small towns, and an impressive early-week performance, Saiyaara is poised to continue its dream run at the box office in the days to come.
