Sangli Pattern In Pune: Political Tensions Rise As Flex Banners Appear In Parvati Constituency
Pune: As the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections approach, political parties are ramping up efforts to connect with voters through meetings, rallies, and outreach events. In Pune’s Parvati Assembly constituency, banners have emerged bearing the slogan “Sangli Pattern in Parvati,” sparking intrigue and discussion.
In the Parvati constituency, the BJP has nominated sitting MLA Madhuri Misal once again. Meanwhile, there was ongoing speculation within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) about whether the Parvati seat would go to the Sharad Pawar-led faction or to the Congress. Both Congress’s senior corporator Aba Bagul and former corporator Ashwini Kadam from the Pawar faction had been preparing for the seat for several months, each requesting their respective parties to secure the nomination for them. Eventually, the seat was allocated to the Sharad Pawar faction, and Ashwini Kadam was announced as the MVA candidate.
Having served as a corporator in this constituency for over 30 years, Aba Bagul had sought a ticket from the Congress since 2009 but was overlooked each time. This year, his discontent with the allocation to the Pawar faction led him to file his nomination as an independent candidate, raising the possibility of a three-way contest between BJP’s Misal, MVA’s Kadam, and independent Bagul.
The final date for withdrawal of nominations is November 4. Until then, the stage appears set for a triangular battle. Meanwhile, the “Sangli Pattern” banners have become a hot topic, adding a new layer of excitement to the Parvati constituency’s political landscape.
