Schools in PMC limits to remain shut till December 15

Pune Municipal Corporation on November 30, 2021 issued an order stating that since the new Covid19 variant – omicron has been found in the country, with few cases being reported in the state capital. 
The state government’s education department had recently announced that the schools from Class 1-4 in rural areas and Class 1-7 in urban areas can reopen from December 1.

Vikram Kumar, Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation has informed that the new Covid19 variant – Omicron has been termed as Variant of Concern. In view of this, all schools in the PMC, Khadki Cantonment Board and Pune Cantonment Board shall remain closed till December 15, 2021.  Also, after ascertaining the situation on or before December 15, the further notice shall be informed. Online classes can continue for class 1-7.
