In the busy streets outside Mumbai’s BMC Hospital, one vada pav stall is more than just a food spot. It has become a place where people feel welcomed and valued.

Ishika Dhanmeher, a marketing manager in Mumbai, shared a heartfelt post on LinkedIn about her mother, who has been running this vada pav stall for 11 years. Ishika said, “My mom runs a vada pav stall in Mumbai. Right outside the BMC Hospital. My nani works inside the hospital. But my mom made relations.”

Starting the stall was not easy. Ishika shared that many problems came her mother’s way. “Every other day, something would go wrong. Her stall would be broken. Something would be stolen. People around would taunt her,” she said. Hospital staff sometimes did not allow her mother to work peacefully, simply because she was a woman doing something on her own.

But her mother did not give up. Without complaints, she proved that her food was clean and homemade. Slowly, those who doubted her became loyal customers. Today, many hospital doctors, nurses, and staff not only buy her vada pav but also invite her to their picnics.

One special thing about Ishika’s mother is how she connects with people. Though she never had formal education, she speaks many languages, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Hindi, and even some English. This makes everyone feel comfortable and respected.

“She builds relationships. She builds trust. She never asks for help, but help just finds her,” Ishika said. She added that every time she visits the stall, she sees people excited just to talk to her mother.

For Ishika, her mother’s story is not just about struggle but about how personality and kindness can create power. “Two things I’ve inherited from her: communication and building genuine relationships. And if that’s all I got from her, I already have everything I need,” she concluded.

The post has touched many hearts and reminded people that success often comes from hard work, honesty, and the ability to connect with others.
