Age is just a number when you carry grit in your heart and courage in your steps. Kamaljit Kaur’s story is proof that dreams don’t come with an expiry date. At a stage when most people begin to think about retirement, Kamaljit decided to start something new, and life-changing.

At the age of 50, after recovering from a serious battle with COVID-19, she didn’t just return to normal life, she redefined it. She founded Kimmu’s Kitchen, a brand built on purity, tradition, and a strong belief in homemade goodness. Based in Mumbai, her company produces desi ghee made from curd, using the traditional bilona method. It was a technique she had grown up watching in her hometown in Ludhiana, where fresh milk, butter, and ghee were part of daily life.

After her recovery, Kamaljit noticed how difficult it was to find pure, chemical-free ghee in urban areas. That’s when the idea struck, to bring the taste of her village to people’s homes. She started small, sourcing milk from local dairies in Mumbai. But unsatisfied with the quality, she returned to her roots in Punjab and built her own production unit with the help of her son. Today, her business supports over 30 families and ensures that every batch of ghee carries the flavor and goodness of home.

Kamaljit has spoken openly about her struggles. In her previous interviews, she has said that it wasn’t easy to start something new at this age, especially after a health scare. But her will to create something meaningful kept her going. Her ghee isn’t made from butter or cream, it’s made from curd, the old-school way, which she believes is healthier and tastier.

Thanks to her smart mix of online and offline marketing, Kimmu’s Kitchen now delivers across India and even gets international orders. In just a short time, she’s sold thousands of bottles, with her monthly income crossing lakhs. But for her, the biggest achievement is being able to give people pure food and provide jobs to other women in the community.

At 52, Kamaljit Kaur stands as a strong example of what’s possible when you believe in yourself. Her story is one of resilience, tradition, and the power of starting again, no matter your age.
