Shocking Cruelty In Pune: Man Booked For Sexually Abusing Female Stray Dog In Tingrenagar
Pune, August 8, 2025: A deeply disturbing incident has come to light from the Tingrenagar area of Pune, where a labourer has allegedly committed a heinous act of cruelty against a female stray dog. The shocking incident, captured on CCTV, has triggered public outrage.
A 27-year-old woman, a software engineer residing in Master Colony, Tingrenagar with her family, filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station. The accused, identified as Honappa Amodhisiddh Hosmani, lives opposite the complainant’s house and works as a mason and daily-wage labourer.
According to the FIR, on July 7, the complainant witnessed Honappa brutally beating a stray dog for no reason. When she questioned him, he argued with her. On August 3, the complainant’s mother saw Honappa carrying a female stray dog into a tin shed. When she followed him there, he immediately let the dog go. Based on this and previous suspicious behavior, it is suspected that Honappa has been sexually abusing the dog.
The complainant also alleged that the accused has frequently beaten stray dogs in the area and treated them with extreme cruelty. Following complaints and legal follow-up by the complainant and advocate Ragini More, the Airport Police registered a case against Honappa.
Widespread outrage has erupted in Pune against the accused. Citizens are demanding strict action for the inhumane and depraved behavior, especially towards a voiceless animal. Police have confirmed that an FIR has been lodged and the matter is under investigation.
