The video, shot from the back seat, revealed a shocking disregard for safety, as the driver prioritized virtual battles over the real-life dangers of the road. The footage, a stark reminder of the perils of distracted driving, shows the driver maneuvering the vehicle with one hand while his other hand clutched his phone, his eyes glued to the screen.

The driver’s focus was so intently on the game that the steering wheel was left largely unattended, a terrifying sight for anyone witnessing this reckless act. The video, a mere 10 seconds long, exposed a shocking reality – a driver who prioritized entertainment over the lives of his passengers and other road users. This incident, initially shared on the ‘CarsIndia’ community of Reddit, quickly spread across social media platforms, raising concerns about the growing issue of distracted driving and the need for stricter measures to prevent such dangerous behavior.

The driver was heavily criticized by social media users for putting lives at risk, with many calling for strict punishment. “I would walk out of the cab instantly. Not worth it. If the cab company wants payment, simply send them the video,” one person commented. Another user questioned, “How would you walk out of it? The vehicle is literally in motion.”

One user suggested that the driver should be identified and have his driving license suspended. “I can’t even walk properly while looking at my phone. How is he playing a game and driving at the same time?” a fourth user remarked.

Meanwhile, another person shared, “I would just calmly ask him to park it on the side of the road, end the ride, and walk away.”

The driver’s actions are even more concerning given the history of PUBG and its Indian counterpart, BGMI. Both games were banned in India in 2020 and 2022, respectively, due to concerns about national security. While BGMI eventually returned to app stores in 2023.
