Shubhashree Woods residents take matter in their own hands to resolve water logging issue
For the past few years, Pimpri Chinchwad saw huge rainfall resulting in watre accumulation at various low lying areas. Pimple Saudagar was one of the areas where frequent water logging occurred.
Some societies in this smart suburb often had water logging. To end the problem, the residents of Subhashree Woods (row house) decided to take up the matter in their hands and resolve it permanently. The bad engineering of the storm water line led to water logging for several years. The society from its own expense decided to resolve the issue and laid a new water line.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Satish Bawge, a resident, said, “We suffered a lot due to bad engineering of the storm water and drainage line. Each house in our society used to have knee length water accumulation as the water had no way to flow. We spent around Rs 28 lakhs from our funds to repair the entire the storm water line and laid a new one. We were supported by our corporator Shatrughan Kate, who helped us in resolving our technical issues.”
The residents were helped throughout the laying of storm water line by the local corporator, said the residents. The residents surveyed the storm water and drainage line system of the entire road stretch of Kunal Icon road. The society residents also felicitated corporators Shatrughan Kate, Shankar Jagtap and Sagar Angholkar.
