Siddhivinayak Temple Trust Reports 15% Revenue Growth, Reaches Rs 133 Crore

Siddhivinayak Temple Bans Floral Garlands And Coconuts Amid Heightened Security Concerns
Mumbai’s iconic Siddhivinayak Temple Trust in Prabhadevi has recorded a 15% rise in annual revenue, reaching Rs 133 crore for the financial year 2024-25, up from Rs 114 crore the previous year. The figures were confirmed by Executive Officer Veena Patil.
The temple’s revenue is generated through multiple sources, including daan petis (donation boxes), puja offerings, prasad and laddoo sales, online donations, and gold and silver offerings.
Future Revenue Projection at Rs 154 Crore
On March 31, the temple’s managing committee released its budget for the upcoming financial year, estimating Rs 154 crore in revenue for 2025-26. Deputy Executive Officer Sandeep Rathod highlighted that the temple’s final income of Rs 133 crore exceeded expectations, surpassing initial estimates by 15%.
Despite rising costs of food and gold, the gold and silver counters witnessed a surge in auctioned items. Rathod also noted that prasad is sold at cost price, ensuring a zero-profit policy while considering inflation.
Efficient Darshan System Boosts Donations
Rathod credited the temple administration’s efficiency for the increase in revenue. He explained that a well-managed darshan system enhances the devotee experience, encouraging more contributions.
“If queues move smoothly and darshan is orderly, more devotees can participate, leading to increased donations. At Siddhivinayak, each devotee gets 10-15 seconds for darshan, compared to 5-7 seconds at other major shrines. This enhances the experience and inclines people to donate more,” he added.
The Siddhivinayak Temple continues to attract lakhs of devotees each year, contributing significantly to its growing financial strength.
