Thane: A six-year-old boy, identified as Yash Chavan from Shivthirth Society in Motagaon, Dombivli, was injured on Tuesday after being attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and concern among local residents.

The footage shows the child walking towards a play area when five to six stray dogs suddenly charge at him. The boy is knocked to the ground and dragged for several meters before a resident rushes over, intervenes, and rescues him. The boy’s family was immediately alerted and he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Civic official, confirmed that the boy’s condition is now stable. “We dispatched a dog squad to the area and managed to capture three of the dogs involved. They have been sent to a shelter,” she added.

The disturbing incident has heightened fears in the community, with residents demanding urgent sterilization drives to control the growing stray dog population in Dombivli.
