A 15-month-old girl was allegedly beaten by a maid at a day care center in Noida. CCTV footage from the facility shows the maid repeatedly hitting the baby and dropping her on the floor while she cried. The maid was arrested on Sunday after the child’s parents filed a police complaint.

The incident reportedly happened on August 4. When the toddler’s mother brought her home from the day care, she found her crying uncontrollably. While changing her clothes, the mother noticed circular marks on both thighs.

The concerned mother took her child to a doctor, who confirmed that the marks were consistent with human bite marks. The parents then checked the day care’s CCTV footage, which revealed disturbing details of the abuse.

In the video, the maid is first seen carrying the crying child and trying to pacify her. However, when the child continued to cry, the maid shut the room’s door, dropped her to the floor, slapped her, bit her, and hit her with a plastic bat.

According to reports, the parents have also accused the day care head of negligence. They alleged that despite the child’s distress, the head made no effort to protect or comfort her. Instead, they claim both the maid and the day care head used abusive language and issued threats when confronted.

The matter was reported to the Sector-142 police station. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. The child has undergone a medical examination to record her injuries.

Police confirmed that the maid is in custody. “A case has been registered under the relevant sections based on the complaint. The accused maid has been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are underway,” a police official said.
