Former actress claims emotional abuse, infidelity, and career sabotage during eight-year relationship
Former Bollywood actress Somy Ali has made shocking claims about her past relationship with actor Salman Khan, alleging infidelity, emotional abuse, and control during their time together in the 1990s. The two were reportedly in a serious relationship from 1991 to 1999, even living together at one point, with marriage said to be on the cards before their breakup.
Now based in the US and working as a social activist, Somy Ali has opened up in recent interviews and social media posts about the emotional turmoil she says she experienced during their relationship. She alleged that Salman Khan had multiple one-night stands while they were together, saying,
“I was fed up with Salman Khan’s eight one-night stands. Every day I would hear about a new scandal. He would abuse and insult me constantly.”
Somy claimed that despite receiving multiple film offers during her time in the industry, Salman kept her away from them due to fears of his “truth coming out.” She revealed that she had entered Bollywood largely to be with Salman, but eventually felt disillusioned and hurt by the relationship’s outcome.
After their breakup in 1999, Somy left India and settled in the US, where she pursued higher education and had four other relationships, with a surgeon, a journalist, a corporate lawyer, and a professor. Despite building a new life, she expressed frustration at still being primarily known as Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend.
Adding fuel to the fire, she also made a controversial comparison, referring to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as the “new Dawood and Chhota Shakeel of Bollywood,” though she made it clear that she doesn’t support violence or murder.
Somy’s explosive revelations have once again brought focus on Salman Khan’s past relationships, which have long been a topic of public curiosity. While he has dated several high-profile actresses such as Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya Rai, and Katrina Kaif, none of those relationships led to marriage.
As of now, Salman Khan has not issued any official response to Somy Ali’s allegations. The revelations have reignited debate over the blurred lines between celebrity relationships and power dynamics in Bollywood, raising questions about how the industry treats women who choose to speak up.
